RAGE MONTHLY Magazine features Judas Kiss star Charlie David in a revealing Q & A where he answers the same question faced by the character he plays in the film: Are you afraid of the future?

The cover hypes the article by writer Randy Hope: “Judas Kiss Hearrthrob Charlie David Grabs Life’s Opportunities.” The magazine hit the stands just ahead of the film’s Los Angeles-area premiere at Long Beach’s QFilms Festival, where it opens the event on September 16. Event details.

In the article, “If You Had a Second Chance, Would You Grab it?”, Charlie relates how he would react to the situation offered his character, Zachary Wells, to try to make up for the mistakes of his youth:

Certainly my life hasn’t been without mistakes, but at the same time I believe the world is the world we’re supposed to be a part of. There is nothing we can do here that is a wrong choice – especially if you look at everything as an opportunity. … When I look back at my life some of the most challenging times have been the times in my life are when I’ve learned the most.

The article delves into Charlie’s boy band past, his current career as actor, filmmaker, author and businessman, and a future he’s still writing. He truly deserves being named to the “Out 100″ list by Out Magazine in 2005.

One of the realities of shooting a film is that the conditions on set — especially when shooting on location, and even more when shooting on location outdoors — sometimes dictate re-recording dialog during post-production.

We’re really lucky that despite a lot of shooting on location our needs for re-recording are as minimal as they turned out. The industry term for such recording is ADR (automatic dialog replacement). Only there’s nothing automatic about it.

You need a recording studio, a talented sound engineer, actors who can repeat or exceed their original performance and a director who can cope with the artificial, after-the-fact nature of the acting he has to oversee.

For Judas Kiss, we were fortunate to have talented people playing all those roles:

• Sound designer Ralph Miller, whom I have worked with on the award-winning Star Trek: Phase II. The man can work miracles with audio recorded in less-than-ideal conditions.
• Actors Charlie David and Richard Harmon, who both came to Los Angeles from Canada to re-record a few of their scenes so we can offer viewers the best sound experience possible in the film. Both actors have the experience and talent to cope with the challenges of re-creating their performances.
• Director J.T. Tepnapa, who oversaw the entire recording session, making sure the actors’ performances are up to snuff.
