JUDAS KISS closes out the Tampa International Gay & Lesbian Film Festival on October 16 at the historic Tampa Theatre.
TIGLFF organizers signaled their interest in the film after attending its screening in April at the Miami Lesbian and Gay Film Festival. “We’ve been looking forward all year to scheduling this festival,” said writer-producer Carlos Pedraza. “Tampa is a festival no one wants to miss.”
Tampa is one of the country’s biggest LGBT festivals, running 11 days, from October 6-16. Last year, organizers offered more than 60 feature and short films.
Judas Kiss is scheduled to screen at the 1,400-seat Tampa Theatre at 3 p.m. on the closing day of the festival. That is the largest venue to date to accommodate a Judas Kiss screening. The ornate theatre opened in 1926 to present vaudeville shows, and has since presented movies, concerts and other events.
ABOUT THE FESTIVAL This is TIGLFF’s 22nd year. Named one of Tampa Bay’s 25 largest events by the Tampa Bay Business Journal, the festival has been praised by local leaders as an integral part of the community.
The festival plans to release its program guide and tickets at a special event on September 8.
