U.K. Distribution Deal with TLA for ‘Judas Kiss’

TLA Releasing Acquires UK Rights For Award-Winning Drama Judas Kiss

LONDON (July 19, 2011) — TLA Releasing has acquired U.K. rights (Theatrical, Non-theatrical, TV,Home Video (incl. DVD), EST, DTO, PPV, VOD, DTR, Streaming, all other internet and digital rights, New Media, Ancillary) for J.T. Tepnapa’s and Carlos Pedraza’s affecting drama Judas Kiss, starring Charlie David, Richard Harmon, Brent Corrigan and Timo Descamps.

The DVD is scheduled for release in the United Kingdom and Ireland on November 7, 2011.

The original and bold feature follows a failed filmmaker who is given the chance to reshape his future during a visit to his former university, and has been described by ThatGayMovie.com as “a sexy slice of mystery-drama with a dream cast and high production values.”

‘FESTIVAL FAVORITE’ TLA Releasing President Derek Curl said: “We are delighted to be bringing Judas Kiss to the U.K. The movie represents the very best in modern gay cinema and it’s been a firm favorite on the festival circuit. We’re truly excited about replicating its award-winning success when it comes to DVD on November 7.”

Judas Kiss opened QFest in Philadelphia earlier this month to packed houses and glowing reviews.

“We are ecstatic about being able to offer Judas Kiss to the UK and Ireland,” added writer-producer Carlos Pedraza. “We’ve gotten so many requests from the U.K. via our website, judaskissmovie.com, on our Facebook page and Twitter so it’s exciting to finally be able to say, ‘yes, you can!’

“TLA has supported Judas Kiss virtually since its inception, five years ago. Every independent filmmaker should hope for the kind of support and practical advice we received from TLA staff.”

The deal was negotiated between TLA’s Curl and Judas Kiss sales representative Charlie David, of Montreal-based Border2Border Entertainment.
