Boston Audience Loved ‘Judas Kiss’

Some audience reactions — including fan art! — from the Judas Kiss screening at the Boston LGBT Film Festival on May 14, courtesy of Facebook, Twitter, email, listservs and texts:

Saw Judas Kiss last night at the film festival in Boston. … The movie was fantastic, exceeding my expectations. Of course, my expectations were pretty high already. Great piece of work. — John LaRegina, via Facebook

I thought it was really neat, straddling a lot of genres in a unique way. Good story, and very attractive actors! — Audience member text message

Judas Kiss made my life. Best movie i’ve seen in so long. I think I’m gonna go crazy not getting to watch [it] again until the DVD comes out… — @Louvampyer, via Twitter

So good! I’m so glad I was able to come see the screening of this amazing movie, and the insight provided by the Q&A was a great bonus. Can’t wait to own it on DVD! — Amanda Simmon, via Facebook

Judas Kiss was the strongest of the films I saw in the festival. [The producers] clearly knew stuff about movie-making and wanted to bear in mind limits of plot, pacing and plausibility as they apply to a gay, magic realism, science fiction movie. The leading man, Charlie David, is a solid actor. … Richard Harmon, is also a very solid actor. Finally, in the movie before reality snaps back, Charlie’s character and Richard’s had a frank conversation wherein the older man is comforting the younger one, but also realistic with the younger one about how their life is going to turn out. That kind of ending had something for it — punch of realism rather than “We’ll all live happily ever after under the rainbow!” — Gaylaxians Listserv

Awesome. I saw the screening in Boston this weekend and definitely want the DVD. I can’t wait. Great film. — Ejoch Ndc, via Facebook

FAN ART Festival patron Laura Wozniak came to the screening with a painting she did in honor of Judas Kiss stars Charlie David and Richard Harmon. She asked me to autograph it  — even though I thought that kinda ruined her artwork. But that’s what she wanted.
